January 31st.
Join the Portland PC User Group and
tap into an incredible resource. Our membership is made up of many
different people, from corporate professionals who make their
living doing computer work, to home computer novices who have a
desire to know more, do more, and discover more about personal
computers.
PPCUG members enjoy sharing experiences, discovering innovative
solutions, and simply networking with other computer users.
Whatever your level of knowledge, as a PPCUG member you'll learn
how to get the maximum use of your computer with a minimum of
confusion. If you have a problem, there is a good chance someone
in the group has been over that rocky road you are on and can
offer helpful, friendly, free advice.
Learn from corporate speakers * Informative monthly meetings
include a question and answer session followed by presentations
designed to keep you up to date with advancements in computer
technology. Guest speakers include representatives from national
and local software and hardware companies, nationally syndicated
columnists, and local experts.
Get the help you need * PPCUG maintains a list of volunteers who
will share their expertise with others who have an immediate need
for assistance. No more waiting for national support phone lines
to open in the morning, or sitting frustrated on a Saturday or
Sunday.
Enjoy a subscription to our newsletter * Each month our
newsletter, the Portland Computing newsletter, will bring you
news, tips, tricks and reviews. The newsletter is packed with
information about the user group, coming- events, and articles
covering a wide range of topics about what users like you are
doing, problem-solving tips, application shortcuts, and what's hot
and what's not..
Get answers via our e-mail forum * PPCUG supports an e-mail
Discussion Forum accessed via the Internet. Members can carry out
problem-solving discussions, make announcements, ask questions,
list products for sale, and just plain talk. It's a town meeting
by e-mail.
Special Interest Groups * PPCUG organizes hands-on classes and
special interest group (SIG) meetings on specific software and
hardware programs to develop user knowledge and skills. Both the
classes and SIGS have proven to be especially useful to beginner
and novice computer users.
Enjoy user group discounts * Members are eligible for special
prices from many software and hardware companies, and significant
savings on web services from
Infinity Internet.
Door prizes at meetings * National and local software and hardware
companies generously donate products to be awarded as door prizes
at monthly meetings.
Use computers at the Resource Center * PPCUG maintains a Resource
Center with computers for SIGs, training and education classes.
Reward yourself - Volunteer! * All PPCUG programs and activities
are administered by member volunteers. No one receives a salary or
a fee for their volunteer work, and all income from annual member
fees and other sources are used to support the wide variety of
services offered by the organization.
Attend the next meeting * Don't be shy. Come on by. Visit our next
meeting. Ask a computer question that's been unanswered. No
question is too simple or unimportant. One or more members will
probably have an answer for you. Details of the next meeting and
instructions on how to get there are right here
on our web site. We look forward to saying hi.
Membership benefits
